Completed 24 Hours Cycle from Marble Arch to Arc d'Triomphe on 25th June 2011 in 22 hours 01 minute and 05 seconds!
THE CHALLENGE THE LEGENDS THE CHARITY

To cycle from Marble Arch (London) to Arc d'Triomphe (Paris) within 24 hours. Time starts when the team leave Marble Arch and finishes when the last member of the team reaches the Arc d' Triomphe.

This challenge is usually a 5 or 3 day challenge but it was decided (on New Years eve 2010) that the real challenge would not be to just cover the 289 miles but to do so against the clock in a time period that would require the whole process to go perfectly to meet the time periods

Through maticulous planning "24" was born and 3:30pm 24th June 2011 will see the start of the challenge . If successful the team will be completed by 3:30pm (GMT) 25th June 2011 at the base of Arc de Triomphe Paris.

Mick has known Dickie since they went to school together and were the epitome of perfect students. Mick and Og were each other Best men and are veterans of the bike ride having completed the infamous JOGLE together in 2010. Mick taught Kosh everything he knows about goal keeping (!!??) since their days playing water polo at Sutton and Cheam.

Kosh will be the junior of the group and will therefore assume all the duties of "TJ" for this challenge!

Bernie has once again made it through the challenging selection process to be awarded the privileged position of "Support driver". As with the JOGLE venture this role has been interpreted as Team Manager and lynch pin in the whole process! (by Bernie of course!!)

EACH logoEACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. They provide care and support wherever the family wishes – in families’ own homes, in hospital or at one of their hospices in Ipswich, Milton and Quidenham.

Unfortunately some friends of Richard's (Dickie) needed the support of EACH during the sadly short life of their son Jeremiah. It is a story that explains the need and important work that the EACH organisation do far better than we ever could so please click on the button above to read their story in their own words.
